My doctor decided to do another blood draw a week later since my first tests were early, which showed that my progesterone dropped and my hcg levels slowed (didn't fall). She started me on nightly progesterone supplements and my hcg is now back up to normal ...I had a 10-point drop in hcg - 548 to 538 48-hours later. Another 72-hours after that, I'm at 970 (just under doubling). I'm terrified it's ectopic. my initial test, which showed the drop, was 48 hours in between. The next one, increased from 538 to 968 from Thursday to Sunday.An hCG increase <66% in 2 days during early pregnancy was characteristic of nonviable gestations . Although the initial serum hCG level was low in this case, the slope of hCG rise remained normal. This suggests that a linear increase in log hCG is more reliable in evaluating a viable pregnancy..
