2024 Mercury oil injection delete kit

#1 · Sep 11, 2019. I have a 2005 150 XR6 with oil injection. I am hearing more and more people are deleting the injection system and running pre-mixed gas, due to failure of the injection pump. Oil is injected into the throttle body and travels to the bottom end. GET makes an Injector relocation kit with a GET ecu to move the injectors between the throttle body and the reeds. This will get premix to the bottom end. then you can remove the oil tank. If you do not like the injection system, buy a bike with a carburetor.As long as that recall was done, you really should never have a problem with the Oil Injection system -- this is the same Oil Injection system that has been used on 100,000's of Mercury V6 outboards for probably twenty years and is considered highly reliable. You might pull out the plastic bushing which leaves the oil pump shaft in the engine. Turning the flywheel by hand will move the oiler shaft out until you can grab it.
